Location: Taunton, venue TBC
Course leader: Kate Whittle, Co-operantics

This workshop is suitable for anyone curious to explore the sources of conflict, and how to respond effectively to those conflicts that are part and parcel of being human and working together. The workshop will also address how to prevent unnecessary conflict through clear communication, understanding how to run effective meetings, choosing appropriate decision-making approaches and good team-working.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Review your own typical responses to conflict
  • Identify the pros and cons of different responses to conflict and choose the most effective in different situations
  • Use a principled approach to negotiation, rather than win/lose
  • Understand the importance of good communication skills
  • Explain the basics of how to run an effective meeting
  • Identify different approaches to decision making and know when each approach would be most efficient
  • Describe what makes a good team.
